About us

WAVES Seaford helps all families in Seaford especially those who are feeling vulnerable and isolated from the community.

The charity strives to make a real difference to the lives of the many people who are somehow at risk in our community who so often fall through the net of statutory provision. We have 2 part time family workers and a part time Administrator who supervise a volunteer team of approximately 30.

Waves works with families in all types of areas including mental health, domestic abuse, parenting, relationship breakdown, bereavement, child behaviour. We work closely with, and receive much support from, the four primary schools in Seaford as well as the primary school in Alfriston and the one secondary school within the Seaford community.

The WAVES Drop In Centre was opened in April 2007, in the centre of Seaford at 8 Church Street (opposite the police station).  The Centre is a clean, comfortable safe place for families to meet with comfortable sofas, a play area, changing facilities and refreshments.

The Centre is open Monday to Thursday 9.30-12.30 pm and has been invaluable to those who have felt isolated in the community.  It has given those who come an opportunity to meet others in similar situations and form friendships as well as providing them with the confidence that is needed to integrate into the community.  There are always at least 2 volunteers on hand to help and assist as well as providing a listening ear for any that are in need of extra support and guidance.

WAVES Seaford Limited is a registered Charity (No. 1118771)
